Shanna Smith lives in rural Cub Run, Kentucky with her husband and two boys. She enjoys all things outdoors, especially hiking. She has taught for fifteen years and is as excited and energized about teaching today as when she started. There are many changes to education and now is the time that is most engaging for both her and her students. She has two bachelorís degrees from Western Kentucky University; one in Communication Disorders and the other in Elementary Education. She has a masterís degree from there as well and is a National Board Certified Teacher. She owes her ideas and accomplishments to her family and coworkers who have been her mentors and source of inspiration. She is constantly motivated and challenged by her students and looks to all the smaller things each day that make teaching worthwhile.
