Kim Whitney received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Western Ken- tucky University. For the past 15 years, she has worked for Simpson County Schools in Franklin, Kentucky. While she began by teaching in the third and fourth grade classroom, she currently works as a Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Specialist for the district focusing on elementary math. Involvement with various long-term grants including Math Alliance and the Math Teacher Leader Network have allowed her to spend time studying the best ways to teach mathematics and then share it with her colleagues. Outside of school, Kimís life revolves around her beautiful children, Parker and Julianna.
